Fairy Magic

When I found out I was having a baby girl I took to buying some baby girl and girly scrapbooking
supplies..only having a boy i was excited to play with pink for the first time. Finding Kaisercraft
Enchanted Garden paper set was what i was after.

Firstly was decorating some Kaisercraft wooden letters for my baby girl

then some bookends for her new book shelf

and some deco for the walls

I also had quiet a bit left over and finally found some time to do my first 12x12
pages for my baby girl album.

Loved this paper..

until next time happy scrappin'

"By the Sea" album graphic 45

My latest creation has taken over 6 months to finally finish. but yay its finally finished and thought it was about time to get this blog going again and see if anyone follows.

So this is my "by the sea" graphic 45 album and raft that Ive had a lot of fun making.
The idea i got as soon as i saw the paper line was to make an album using photos taken from our favourite beach/camping spot. Cape Flattery is a stretch of around 30ks of  beautiful uninterrupted beach. On this beach you will find everything and anything that has been washed up from all the pasting cruise liners, passenger boats and long liners. Its the best place for a beach comber like me to have fun scavenging while the boys have a fish. Even finding a bucket full of nautilus shells.

The raft was built out of driftwood, twine and hot glue. I wanted to add items that i had found from the beach but also added cutouts from the papers. lots of shells, flowers, a dried out leaf, netting, pearls, chain and a cut out mermaid, lady, anchor, birds and steering wheel to decorate the raft.

The album itself has a chipboard cover and decorated in the same fashion.

Cut out fish, shells, starfish, and seahorses from the papers. Flowers are prima and Kaisercraft that have been stamped with by the sea stamps. A Tim Holtz compass, netting and pearls with different ribbons to add to spine with a couple charms.

back of cover has a triple fold photo holder with many tags with the sail boat that can slide across the pocket. 2nd page is a decorative photo frame with a pull out photo mat behind that looks like an old polarized photo.

3rd page is a belly band page with a 6x4 booklet. The half page is just a ticket tag with 3 pull out photo mats. the 4th page is a gate fold page with tags held in frount.

The inside of the gate fold page has a large photo mat, with pockets either side. Back side of half page is a pocket with tags.

The 5th side is a bit complicated, it is divided into 2 pockets that lift up to hold tags, than whole page is turned down

To reveal a large photo mat, and a booklet with a mermaid. Half page has 2 swivel shells that holds a mini tag book.

6th page is a decorative photo frame with a polarized photo mat as a pull out.

7th page is a tag page with different sized tags. Half page is folds up and down to hold random photo mats. 8th page is also a random pocket page

9th page is a tri fold photo mat with tags

The 10th page is slightly different, it has a envelope pocket that fits 6x4 photos and a fold out hidden pockets and tags that is kept closed by an anchor.

11th tag has a few photo band that folds out to a large photo mat underneath, and back of cover page is just a large decorative pocket page with tags and a booklet for photos.

Each page is made from paper bags that also has a large photo mat in each one. Many areas through out the album for all sorts of size photos and lots of journal spots. Lots of fun to make and im really impressed how it worked out. I love combining my love of mixed media to this album and still make it useful to show off our photos..

hope you guys all like it as well...

until next time happy scrappin'

sneek peek at Kaisercraft Tropicana

Just a sneek peek at my latest project.

I spent 2 wonderful weeks visiting cape york, the very tip of Australia on my last holiday and took some wonderful photos. Of course I had on my mind a next album to make, but what paper line would be best...Kaisercraft Tropicana looked great and when I tried it out it was perfect! So making my usual paper bag album with the stack the deck binding style my album was in the process.

The flowers are hand made and when I finish the album I will upload a proper post for it with a link to a tutorial on how I made these beautiful flowers...

Will keep you posted soon on my finished result...

Rock pool album

Well i have finally finished this cute album.Using Kaisercraft Rock Pool collection, I had fun creating a mini to go inside a decorated clam shell.

My lovely little hometown is the only place off of main land Australia where we are luckly enough to walk to the closest part of the Great Barrier Reef. A couple times a year on a very low tide, we get to walk out and enjoy looking at live rock and coral, hundreds of starfish and all sorts of treasures left behind on a low tide. Doing this with my son and taking some great photos got me thinking about doing this mini album.

Using two of the large clam papers, gluing to cardboard i created my clam to hold the mini inside.
I then decorated it by spraying with pearl glimmer mist, inking, netting, a real starfish, shells and glitter.

I used some of the diecut animals to decorated the inside of the clam and hot glued string pearls around the lip.

There is lots of pockets and areas to put photos and memorabilia. Iam very pleased at how this turned out and i know my son will love it.

Hope you do too...

until next time, happy scrappin'
